Voidspike
TO DASH YOU NEED TO INUT A DIRECTION, JUST PRESSING DASH DOESNT WORK (its a problem with the code, I couldn't figure out how to make u dash without the input)
Voidspike is a short little 5 minute 2D Platformer game, the gameplay is slightly inspired by the Platformer games Memori, Archaeogem, Finding Xavier, Germinal, Sunblaze, Litguy Adventure, Rainboy and also a bit by Celeste. The artstyle is pretty much directly taken from Dewdrop dynasty .
You need to collect the little Heart Crystal to unlock the Door in a room, collecting the Heart can change certain things in the Level to make it a bit harder to get out of again.
When playing the game you might notice that the game has a couple levels that are slightly similar to the ones seen in Celeste, and thats because I took it as a direct reference, and mixed & matched those platforming sections to my game. I still added some slight unique stuff to the levels because my player controller and general physics in the game are different.
Music: Trevor Lentz
NPCs: Octo, P-NPC
I put like 3 days into the level design so don't expect anything alright? Hope u have fun even tho I intentionally tried to copy what celeste did...
It's a game I made in a short amount of time(about 1-2 weeks) just for fun, to get some time off while working on Little Runmo. The Browser version has no glow/bloom for better performance, if you want a better visual experience download the exe version of the game. Godot games
The game was made in Godot, and I used Aseprite for the Pixelart.
Install instructions
Windows won't directly accept it, so u will need it to let you download and run the application. It's something that Windows does because some information about the app is missing so it thinks it's harmful, haven't figured out yet how to solve it.

on graphics u actually had to select MS-DOS, so ur review is now invalid
implementing saving/loading is hard in a web game I'd imagine, but maybe a password system to save progress would be a welcome change. I just quit the game and wish there was a way to resume from a savepoint. I put in 30 minutes and to replay it would be anoyying just to get farther in the game.
U want a password and a saving feature?!?! Funny idea, I get the spirit, but it’s pretty overkill for this project. I stopped working on it right after release, its gonna stay the way it is.
aerial movement is kind of weird at times. like the player will keep momentum when I let go of left or right. (skill issue if I'm being honest with myself) I really enjoy the level design and movement. very celeste-esque. "5 minute game"->nah I put more than 30 minutes into this game and didn't even beat it. lots of replay value with this gameplay loop. great game overall.
Yes he has no friction in the air. That was a gamedesign mistake, it was a 2 week project so its very rough around the edges. Thanks for playing!
Funni
Quality stuff. Love it!
Small game with lots of fun levels can see the celeste inspiration. Movement was pretty good liked the swapping blocks. Overall enjoyable experience.
I found a Tech in the game! when you hold down the dash button, you can dash in a different direction mid-dash!! I wonder if it was intentional or not?
I am aware of it, it wasn’t intentional at first but now its a feature I guess. It’s not required but u can use it to cheese certain areas in the game. It happens because the dash works by just checking for your directional input, so basically if u stop holding anything, u will instantly stop mid-air, also that’s why u can only dash while holding a direction, and that’s also the same reason why the directional dash thing works.
Sooo cool, great graphics and cool movement, the only thing is the music a lit too loud, and a tiny little bit repetitive but its a great game!
Thanks for checking this out, ill adjust the music
Sure, its a really cool game!
